Creating Connections is a service provided by Yorkshire Sport Foundation, operating across South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. Our aim is to change lives by supporting you to get involved in community sport and physical activity.
Whatever your age, size or physical condition, you are likely to benefit from being more active. You can be active, having fun and meeting new friends sooner than you think.

Yorkshire Sport Foundation collects personal information during the Creating Connections registration process. We will use this information to contact you with appropriate activity options, maintain a database of participation levels and to send you details of future events. All information is submitted voluntarily.
Yorkshire Sport Foundation may also share your details with selected partners such as local sports clubs, national governing bodies of sport, local authority sport and active lifestyle teams to assist with providing the most appropriate sport or physical activity pathway.
It is advised that any recommending agents and organisations obtain the permission of individuals before submitting their details for the service. For participants under the age of 16 an additional ‘main contact’ is required.
We collect personal information during the Creating Connections registration process. Information may also be collected if you respond to any surveys or provide feedback on the service.How will we use the information about you?
We will use this information to contact you with appropriate activity options, maintain a database of participation levels and to send you details of future events that we think might interest you.
We will also contact you at 3, 6 and 12 months following your initial registration date to check on your progress, offer support if required and ask about your activity levels.
An online activity register allows clubs and activity providers to upload their registers to show attendance figures and participation. If you are taking part in activity then this may be recorded and assigned to your profile.
We may also share your details with selected partners such as local sports clubs, national governing bodies of sport, local authority sport and active lifestyle teams to assist with providing the most appropriate sport or physical activity pathway. This could include name, age, gender, preferred method of contact (and details), impairment and activity preferences.Advice and security
The collection and provision of data is done through a secure transmission. We have implemented measures to protect the personal data that we have under our control from unauthorised access, improper use or disclosure, and unauthorised modification.
All our employees and data processors that have access to, and are associated with the processing of personal data, are obliged to respect the confidentiality of information.Access to your information and correction
You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email or write to us using the contact details below.
We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information that you think is inaccurate.
After 18 months from initial registration date we will delete any personal information that we hold about you, however we will retain anonymous statistical information including (but not limited to) gender, ethnicity, impairment type, district and activity levels. If at any point during the 18 month programme you wish to no longer be contacted and would like your personal data deleted please contact us, however we will still retain anonymous statistical data.How to contact us
